The space movie Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, has finally secured more IMAX screens in India after a limited release due to the popularity of Dhurandhar 2. Initially, the film had only five shows, which later rose to 13, but fans demanded more. IMAX has now given Project Hail Mary over 60 shows across India, delighting fans. The film, which was praised for its visuals, was best watched on a larger screen. PVR INOX announced that more IMAX screens have been added, but some fans have criticized the scheduling, with shows either in early morning or late night slots.
Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Project Hail Mary is based on the bestselling novel by Andy Weir. It stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a man who wakes up on a spacecraft with no memory of how he got there. The film was released in India on March 26, but had no IMAX shows on any major ticketing platform by late Wednesday. Dhurandhar 2 is doing well at the box office, having collected over ₹675 crore net in India.
