Bengali actor and Rebel TMC MP Rachna Banerjee has denied any rebellion against former CM Mamata Banerjee, stating that they share a long-standing bond and mutual respect. Speaking to PTI, Rachna acknowledged that they received votes due to Mamata's influence and identity within the Trinamool Congress.

She emphasized that people voted for her because of Mamata's face and trust in her leadership, rather than her own face. Rachna expressed her desire to carry out good work for the people and her constituency, but felt that obstacles were created in their work due to the lack of support from the Centre.

The ongoing political crisis within the Trinamool Congress has seen 58 MLAs and 20 MPs rebel against the party, with three Rajya Sabha MPs resigning from the Upper House and party membership.
