Acclaimed actress Radhika Apte has spoken out about her experiences working in South Indian films. In a recent interview, she shared that she had to deal with uncomfortable requests on set, including being asked to add padding to her breasts and buttocks. Apte noted that while she has had positive experiences working in South Indian cinema, there have been instances where she faced difficulties. One such instance involved a film where she was the only woman on set, and the crew requested her to add more padding to enhance her physical appearance. Apte recalled feeling vulnerable and powerless in that situation, with no manager or agent to support her. She ultimately refused the request, telling the crew to inform the director. Apte has had a diverse career in Indian cinema, with notable roles in Tamil films like All in All Azhagu Raja and Vetri Selvan, as well as the Telugu film Legend. Her recent projects include the OTT releases Saali Mohabbat and Raat Akeli Hai- The Bansal Murders. While she acknowledges the existence of good cinema in South India, Apte's experience serves as a reminder of the challenges women in the industry often face.
