Actor Rajpal Yadav has addressed the social media chatter that erupted after his recent appearance at the Chetak Screen Awards.
At one point, the actor was discussing fluctuations in global currencies when co-host Saurabh Dwivedi took aim at his recent controversy over the payment of settlement amounts in a cheque-bounce case.
Rajpal released a new video on his X account to clarify his stance on the matter, saying that Saurabh and Zakir are like brothers to him and have always respected him.
He added that Saurabh even got the audience to applaud during the show and thanked him, asking fans not to criticise him and hurt him, as it would also hurt Rajpal.
The controversy arose when Saurabh took a jibe at Rajpal and reminded him of his own dues, saying that he would have to return the due amount, regardless of currency fluctuations.
Rajpal was sent to Tihar Jail in connection with a ₹9 crore debt and cheque bounce case in February this year, but was granted interim bail on February 16.
