Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, has become the highest-grossing South Indian film of 2026. The film has grossed ₹315 crore worldwide in its five days of release, surpassing the lifetime collections of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu and Chiranjeevi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.
The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has performed better in Telugu than in Hindi, collecting ₹169.70 crore net in India in five days. Peddi tells the story of a marginalised man and his fight for the dignity of his people through sport.
Despite mixed reviews and backlash over the portrayal of the female lead, the film's makers announced that they hope to reach breakeven soon. Peddi has a way to go before it reaches breakeven, but its success has put it in the third position on the list of Indian releases.
