Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has come out in support of Ranveer Singh amidst the controversy surrounding his exit from Don 3.

Varma criticized the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) for issuing a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer, calling it 'pure muscle flexing by an outdated system.'

He stated that FWICE's intervention in the dispute would be a 'massive PR disaster' for the body and that they are 'desperately trying to hold on to their grip.'

RGV also claimed that FWICE is not a 'court of legal justice' and that their verdicts are often decided in advance by a group of people with a specific agenda.

He added that the dispute between Ranveer and Farhan Akhtar is a 'civil matter' that should be resolved between the two parties, and that FWICE's intervention is unnecessary.

Varma concluded by stating that it is stars like Ranveer who 'sell tickets at the theatres and create employment' for FWICE workers, and that the industry exists because of stars like him.
