Los Angeles, Filmmaker Rebecca Miller has thanked Martin Scorsese for allowing her to make a documentary series with 'real freedom'. Miller directed the 2025 five-part documentary series 'Mr Scorsese' after studying about the filmmaker. She was awarded at IndieWire Honors ceremony for her work.

Miller said she initially wanted to make a film on Scorsese but ended up with a series after discovering there was so much to study about him. The series explores Scorsese's upbringing, battles with addiction, and experiences which shaped his notable films.

Miller, 63, praised Scorsese's honesty and fearlessness, saying it 'blew her away'. She thanked Scorsese for allowing her to make the series with real freedom, which is a rare thing.
