Actor Robert Downey Jr has expressed confidence that the upcoming Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday will meet fan expectations. The movie, which sees Downey return as the villain Doctor Doom, has been carefully crafted to avoid the pitfalls of following blockbusters such as Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Downey, who has played Tony Stark aka Iron Man in multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films, said the film has 'landed in a place' that would satisfy audiences. He praised the way the movie has been structured and the performances of the other characters.
Co-director Joe Russo described Avengers: Doomsday as the most emotionally layered entry in the franchise, calling it the 'most emotionally complex' and 'most mature' of all the Marvel films.
The movie, which is set to be released in December, will also feature a star-studded cast including Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie, and Paul Rudd.
