Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela was a massive hit, featuring the on-screen chemistry of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. However, in an old interview, legendary choreographer Saroj Khan revealed that a song planned for Priyanka Chopra was scrapped after Salman Khan objected to it. The song, titled Thappad Se Dar Nahi Lagta, Lagta Hai Pyaar Se, was meant to be picturised on Priyanka Chopra but was eventually shelved due to the title's resemblance to a dialogue from Dabangg.

Saroj Khan spent 10 days creating and recording the choreography for the song, but was asked to stop rehearsals after receiving an objection from Salman Khan. The choreographer alleged that she was never paid for her work and that the project was eventually shelved without her involvement. Despite this, several of the dance movements she had conceptualised for the original version of the song were retained in the final track, which was choreographed by Vishnu Deva.
