Comedian Samay Raina has opened up about his mental state after the India's Got Latent controversy last year. In a recent podcast, he revealed that he recorded an apology video nine times but was unable to complete it due to his demotivated state.

Samay Raina reflected on the controversy in a podcast with Vaibhav Munjal, where he mentioned that writing his comedy special 'Still Alive' helped him heal. He also revealed that he was mentally zoned out and detached from the world during that period.

Samay Raina confessed that he hit his lowest point when his friend Balraj Ghai couldn't accompany him to Canada for his shows due to visa issues. He also mentioned that several comedians, including Vir Das and Tanmay Bhat, helped him navigate the controversy.

The India's Got Latent controversy erupted in 2025 after Ranveer Allahbadia's remarks on the show sparked a nationwide backlash. Multiple FIRs were filed against several individuals, including Samay Raina, who was forced to remove all episodes of the show from YouTube.
