Comedian Samay Raina recently opened up about the financial struggles he faced after the India's Got Latent controversy. In a recent conversation, Samay revealed that he 'lost everything' due to the controversy, including upcoming episodes, sponsors, and even fixed deposits.
Samay recalled living in constant fear, with several projects lined up and even shot ads, but they asked for their money back. He also signed a deal with BookMyShow, where they had given him an advance for the entire tour, and all that money was already invested.
Samay's biggest fear was that he would go broke and fall into debt, like what happened with Amitabh Bachchan, who went through a severe financial crisis in the late 1990s after his company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL), collapsed.
The India's Got Latent controversy began in February 2025, when a remark by Ranveer Allahbadia sparked massive backlash online. Multiple FIRs were filed against Samay, Ranveer, Apoorva and Ashish, and Samay was forced to remove the show from YouTube.
Despite the setback, Samay has hinted at a second season of India's Got Latent, leaving fans excited.
