The late actor Satish Shah's name was announced at the Padma Awards ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday, where he was posthumously conferred with the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honour.
His cousin Arvind Mamania received the award from President Droupadi Murmu at the function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Satish Shah was widely considered one of the finest Indian comic actors and had a diverse filmography, including popular hits like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and Hum Saath-Saath Hain.
He had a career spanning over four decades, with his greatest success on television, particularly in the sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, where he played the iconic character Indravadan Sarabhai.
