Recently, film critic Anupama Chopra made a claim that a well-known star orchestrated a paid negative PR campaign against Alia Bhatt following her Cannes appearance. Shahid Kapoor, who was present during the interaction, responded to the accusation by advising people to take everything with a pinch of salt and not believe what they hear unless they witness it firsthand.

Shahid expressed caution and revealed that he personally does not believe everything he hears unless he has witnessed it himself. He said, 'I personally never believe anything anybody says unless I am in the room or I saw it myself. I take everything with a pinch of salt and I think that has gone well for me because when people start believing that you are buying what they’re saying, they can manipulate you.'

Shahid advised actors to stay authentic because audiences can easily tell when someone is trying to create a particular perception about themselves. He acknowledged that negativity is an unavoidable part of being famous and successful, but it's essential to be real and let people see who you are.

Shahid's advice comes as Alia Bhatt prepares for the release of her upcoming film Alpha, a female-centric spy thriller directed by Shiv Rawail and part of YRF's ambitious Spy Universe. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on July 3.
