Rumors swirled that Kriti and Rashmika's characters would be a lesbian couple, but the film's team has cleared the air. Director Homi Adajania revealed that the speculation started when the cast got cuddly on set, and they hypothetically thought about a story where Shahid was the third wheel. Producer Dinesh Vijan confirmed that there are two love stories in the trailer, and nothing more. Kriti and Rashmika praised each other's friendship, which started at a studio, and Shahid joked that their natural chemistry might be the reason for the rumors.
