Actor Shantanu Maheshwari has returned to India as a self-proclaimed fan of Korean culture after visiting Seoul for the screening of his film 'Love in Vietnam.' The experience left a lasting impression on him, particularly the warm welcome he received from the people of Seoul. Maheshwari was amazed by the unique blend of fascination for Indian cinema and music among Koreans. He met several influencers in the city, who shared his love for Indian music and often played remixes of popular Indian songs. The actor was also impressed by the organized influencer culture in Korea, which includes a dedicated association. He noted that the community's warmth and camaraderie stood out, contrasting with the competitive environment in India. During his visit, Maheshwari got to meet India's first K-pop artiste Aria, who was part of the X:IN crew. He expressed pride in her achievement and was delighted to learn that she had seen his work in the TV series 'Dil Dosti Dance.' While acknowledging cultural similarities between Korea and India, Maheshwari observed that Koreans tend to be more reserved. He also appreciated the country's distinctive fashion sense, which often features monochromatic colors. As a vegetarian and lactose intolerant individual, Maheshwari found it challenging to find suitable food options in Seoul. However, he enjoyed the city's vegan restaurants and cafes, praising the spices used in Korean cuisine. The actor believes that traveling to Korea for work allowed him to connect with the right people and experience the country's culture firsthand. Despite 'Love in Vietnam' not performing well in India, Maheshwari remains positive, attributing it to factors beyond his control. With a newfound appreciation for Korean culture, Maheshwari is open to collaborating with local directors and exploring opportunities in the Korean film industry. He also expressed his enthusiasm for working with different cultures, including those in China and other Asian countries.
