Television star Shilpa Shinde is facing heavy scrutiny after publicly revealing that the sexual harassment allegations she leveled against producer Sanjay Kohli during their explosive 2016 fallout were entirely made up.
The confession, which took place on a podcast hosted by comedian Bharti Singh and Harssh Limbachiyaa, has reopened old wounds from one of the small screen's most infamous legal feuds.
Shilpa expressed remorse for the damage done to the producer's reputation, stating that she felt cornered into using extreme measures during her contract standoff with the network.
She described a sense of isolation and overwhelming panic, admitting she felt she had no other option but to file the false lawsuit.
Shilpa also hit back at critics accusing her of exploiting the situation for financial gain or cheap publicity, clarifying that she had long since walked away from the project and quietly absorbed the initial blame.
She traced her sudden urge for transparency back to a deeply moving encounter with a fan post-Bigg Boss, where she was inspired to keep living after hearing a story of someone who was wrongly accused and died by suicide.
Shilpa made it clear that she is fully prepared to handle the incoming backlash, stating that she is ready to face all of this and not care what people think.
