Bollywood star Shiva Rajkumar has opened up about his health scare, revealing that he almost quit his upcoming film Peddi due to his cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment. The Kannada actor was approached to star in the film before his 2024 cancer diagnosis and was initially supposed to go to the US for treatment.
However, the film's team, including director Buchi Babu and co-star Ram Charan, patiently waited for him to recover. Shiva Rajkumar expressed his gratitude towards the team, saying, 'They just wanted to do the film with me, and when Buchi Babu narrated it to me, I liked the subject. I spoke to Ram Charan also that day. And afterwards, unfortunately, I was diagnosed with cancer, and I was supposed to go to the US.'
Shiva Rajkumar underwent cancer treatment in the US, including the removal of his cancerous bladder and the creation of an artificial bladder using his intestine. He also spoke about the unwavering support he received from his fans, family, and medical team, which gave him the strength to battle through his health scare.
Peddi is Shiva Rajkumar's first release after his Kannada film 45, in which he shot for while going through chemotherapy. He will also be seen in Jailer 2 with Rajinikanth.
