Singer Shreya Ghoshal has responded to the backlash she faced after stating she would no longer record 'raunchy' songs like Chikni Chameli. In a recent podcast, she clarified that she is not embarrassed by the song, but has become more conscious about the kind of songs she chooses to record.
Shreya revealed that after Chikni Chameli, she was offered tracks with objectifying lyrics, which she refused to record. She stated that she is now more mindful of what she records, as if a song becomes a hit, she has to perform it everywhere, sometimes in front of children, which makes her uncomfortable.
Shreya clarified that she is not embarrassed by Chikni Chameli and that she likes the song, but won't record songs like that anymore. She said, 'I'm not embarrassed. I sang that song at that time. It's one song I will always have to live with, where even children in the audience may dance to it.'
Shreya has recently lent her voice to Yahin Guzaar Doon and has announced her The Unstoppable World Tour, with planned performances in the UK, USA, India and Abu Dhabi.
