Sonali Bendre has spoken about how she was only looking for hopeful and lighter roles after her cancer battle, but she agreed to play a grieving mother in the web show Raakh.
Speaking to News18, Sonali admitted that she wanted to take on roles that would keep her in a positive space, but she was drawn to Raakh after reading its script and realising how compelling its content was.
The show, inspired by the infamous 1978 Ranga-Billa case, has received positive reviews since its release last week, with Hindustan Times giving it 3.5 stars.
Sonali also expressed her discontent over her limited screen time on the show, but she is glad she took the chance as it has been an exceptionally amazing experience.
