SS Rajamouli's highly anticipated film Varanasi is making waves with its connection to the Ramayana. Writer Vijayendra Prasad recently teased a 30-minute scene from the film, revealing it to be a war between Rama and Kumbhakarna. Fans are now speculating if Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the role of Kumbhakarna.
At a fan interaction, Prasad spoke about the film, saying, 'It's a war between Rama and Kumbhakarna.' He also hinted at the film's connection to time zones, but refused to reveal more. The film, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is currently in production and is scheduled for a Sankranti 2027 theatrical release.
SS Rajamouli had previously confirmed that Mahesh Babu would be seen as Lord Rama for a portion of the film. The filmmaker had also spoken about the challenges of shooting the sequence, saying, 'We shot this sequence for 60 days, and we completed it recently. Every single day was a challenge.' The film is expected to be one of the most memorable sequences in Rajamouli's films and Mahesh's films as well.
