Filmmaker and actor Sundar C recently announced his candidacy for the Tamil Nadu elections as part of the Pudiya Neethi Katchi (PNK), a part of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led (AIADMK) National Democratic Alliance (NDA) alliance.
He will be contesting from the Madurai Central constituency and has refused to criticise Vijay and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), despite being rivals in the elections.
Sundar C stated that Vijay has a lot of love and respect for him, and so does he for Vijay. His wife, Khushbu, considers Vijay her thambi (younger brother), and he calls her his akka (elder sister).
The Tamil Nadu elections will be held on April 23, and Vijay plans to contest with his TVK party. Despite setbacks, including a stampede during a rally in Karur in 2025 and being recently denied permission to hold conferences in some regions, the actor persevered.
