Singer Sunitha Upadrasta has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent comments on feminism. In an interview, she sparked backlash for saying that men are also free to believe it's 'his eyes, his choice' if women believe in 'my body, my right.'
Upadrasta has now clarified that her statement was made out of anger and disappointment at the way some men perceive women, and was never intended to justify disrespect or exploitation.
She emphasized that her values remain unchanged and that she believes in equal rights, opportunities, dignity, and respect for women.
Upadrasta's comments were made in response to an interview where she expressed her opinion on the fight for equality, stating that some feminist debates are a waste of time and that true feminism is about valuing women's opinions as much as men's.
