The Supreme Court has ordered the transfer of a copyright dispute between Ilaiyaraaja Music N Management Pvt Ltd and Sony Entertainment from the Madras High Court to the Bombay High Court.

The decision was made after Sony Entertainment approached the Supreme Court seeking to transfer the suit, which was initially filed in the Madras High Court.

Ilaiyaraaja Music N Management Pvt Ltd had filed a copyright dispute against Sony, claiming that the company had acquired the rights to 536 musical works through Oriental Records and Echo Recording.
