Actors Supriya Pathak and Pankaj Kapur are among Bollywood's most loved veteran couples, having completed 38 years of togetherness. However, their relationship saw a lot of protest from Supriya's mother, actor Dina Pathak in the early days.
In a new interview with Hauterfly, Supriya appeared with her daughter Sanah Kapur, discussing mother-daughter bonds and how things got tense when she learnt about her relationship with Pankaj.
Dina Pathak disapproved of Pankaj and Supriya's relationship, warning her that 'he will leave you.' She even tried to break them up with lies, claiming Pankaj drank a lot of alcohol, but he had never had a drop in his life.
However, when Supriya had had enough, she gave her an ultimatum, stating that she was getting married and her mother could either come or not. Dina Pathak's last straw was when Supriya said she liked paneer, implying that if she didn't like it, she couldn't get married to Pankaj.
Just before her mother passed away, Supriya noted that her perspective shifted significantly, and Dina Pathak thought that Pankaj was the only right person, becoming her favorite.
Supriya and Pankaj have a daughter named Sanah and a son named Ruhaan, and he also has his oldest son, actor Shahid Kapoor from his first marriage to Neelima Azeem.
