Suriya and Trisha Krishnan's Karuppu has been a sensation at the box office, collecting ₹95.05 crore in its fifth day of release. The film has shown a steady performance, with fans raving about the intense sequences featuring Suriya's transformation into Karuppusamy.
The latest update from Sacnilk states that Karuppu has collected ₹12.75 crore on its fifth day, a slight dip compared to Monday's ₹14.30 crore. The film earned ₹15.50 crore on its opening day and showed a huge growth the next day, collecting ₹24.15 crore.
Karuppu has collected ₹9.62 crore from its Tamil shows and ₹1.80 crore from its Telugu shows. The film is already faring better than Suriya's previous films, beating their lifetime collections.
However, the film's makers landed in controversy over a scene referencing legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja, leading to a public apology and confirmation that the controversial portion will be removed or altered in future screenings.
