In a clarification on his earlier statement, choreographer Vijay Ganguly revealed that Tamannaah Bhatia was never a serious contender for the hit dance number Shararat in the film Dhurandhar. Vijay explained that the film's director, Aditya Dhar, opted for a different approach to maintain the high-stakes tension in the scene. According to Vijay, Tamannaah's immense star power might have overshadowed the song, and two performers were chosen to keep the focus on the story's progression. Shararat, a high-energy dance number in Dhurandhar, features Ayesha Khan and Krystle D'Souza as the lead dancers. The film, a spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh, has been a massive success at the box office, earning ₹872 crore and becoming India's highest-grossing film of 2025. Vijay Ganguly expressed his concern about the misinterpretation of his earlier statement, emphasizing that the conversation should focus on the creative intent behind the song rather than comparisons between artists. He urged everyone to respect the collaborative nature of cinema and keep the spotlight on the work and the people who pour their hearts into it.
