A shocking true crime documentary on Netflix is shedding light on one of Texas's most harrowing murder cases. Directed by Jessica Dimmock, Maternal Instinct investigates the 2020 fetal abduction case involving Taylor Rene Parker.
Parker, now 29, faked her pregnancy for ten months using a silicone belly and fake ultrasounds to keep her boyfriend. She attacked expectant mother Reagan Simmons-Hancock, murdered her, and performed a crude C-section to steal her unborn baby.
Parker was eventually caught after a Texas State Trooper pulled her over for speeding, and she was found covered in blood with the deceased infant in her lap. She claimed to have just given birth, but medical staff found no signs of recent childbirth.
Parker was sentenced to death in 2022 and is currently incarcerated on death row at the Patrick L. O'Daniel Unit in Gatesville, Texas.
