Kalyan Padala, a 23-year-old from Andhra Pradesh, made history by becoming the first non-celebrity to win Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9. Hosted by Nagarjuna Akkineni, the grand finale saw Kalyan emerge victorious, beating Thanuja Puttaswamy to claim the title. This achievement also marks a milestone for Kalyan, who is the youngest ever contestant to win the show. Kalyan's prize package included a cash award of ₹35 lakh and a brand new SUV car. The cash prize was initially set at ₹50 lakh, but a twist mid-finale allowed the finalists to opt for a reduced amount of ₹15 lakh, which Demon Pavan accepted, paving the way for Kalyan and Thanuja to compete for the top spot. Born and raised in a middle-class family in Viziangaram, Andhra Pradesh, Kalyan's interest in fitness and sports began at a young age. After completing his studies, he joined the Indian Army, fulfilling his childhood dream of serving the nation. Following his stint in the army, Kalyan pursued a career in acting, gaining initial recognition through the digital version of Bigg Boss 19 Agnipariksha. He was voted directly into Bigg Boss Telugu 9 by the audience, making him the first commoner to enter the house through a public poll. Throughout the competition, Kalyan demonstrated a focused approach, excelling in tasks and maintaining a positive attitude that earned him respect from his fellow contestants. His strategy paid off, as he secured the top spot and took home the coveted prize.
