The Kerala Story 2 has been steadily going at the box office, despite controversy and a legal battle. According to Sacnilk.com, the film earned over ₹2 crore on Thursday, taking its India total to ₹21.59 crore nett. The film had a 9% occupancy rate and 3568 shows. Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the film follows the lives of three young women who fall into deceptive marriages and face alleged forced religious conversions.
The film's release was paved the way by the Kerala High Court, which declined to entertain a PIL seeking to change the title of the film. The court pulled up the petitioners for casting aspersions on the division bench and allowed them to file a fresh plea after removing the offending portions.
