The Kerala Story 2 Shatters Taapsee's Assi Box Office Record Despite Mixed Reviews

The Kerala Story 2, directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, has managed to surpass the box office collection of Taapsee Pannu's Assi despite receiving mixed reviews. The film, produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, collected ₹4.65 crore on its opening day and ₹4.51 crore on its second day, taking its total collection to ₹9.16 crore.
Assi, which released on February 20, collected ₹8.48 crore and received positive reviews for Taapsee and Kani Kusruti's performances. The Kerala Story 2, on the other hand, has been labelled as propaganda by some viewers, leading to a temporary stay on its release.
However, the Kerala High Court lifted the stay, and the film has maintained momentum despite the controversy. The film tells the story of three young women who fall into deceptive marriages and face alleged forced religious conversions.
Upon release, The Kerala Story 2 received mixed-to-negative reviews from critics and audiences. The film stars Sumit Gahlawat, Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, Aishwarya Ojha, Arjan Singh Aujla, and Yuktam Kholsa.
