Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, also a renowned Tamil star, recently visited the revered Sri Mookambika Devi Temple in Kollur, Karnataka. During his visit, he took blessings at the temple and later drove himself out, waving at the massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of him.
As he drove away, a young female fan was seen crying and trying to get close to his car, despite his security team's efforts to hold her back. The fan could also be seen running behind his car, undeterred by the rain or the security personnel.
Vijay's visit to the temple comes ahead of his 52nd birthday on June 22. He is the third Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to visit the temple, following in the footsteps of the late MG Ramachandran and the late J Jayalalithaa, who were also actors before joining politics.
Notably, Vijay's foray into politics has been a significant development in the Tamil film industry. He announced his entry into politics in 2024, launching the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party. Despite facing delays and challenges, including the leak of his film Jana Nayagan online, Vijay has managed to win elections within two years of launching his party.
