Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has apologized to a fan who waited five hours to meet him at the promotional event for his upcoming movie, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The fan took to Instagram to express her frustration over missing out on interaction with the star, sharing a video of the massive crowd waiting for almost five hours, only to have Varun's stage time last just five minutes.
Varun Dhawan personally addressed the disheartened fan in the comments, clarifying that they were made to leave early by the cops. He also shared a video on his Instagram story, promising to ensure that his next visit to Lucknow would take place at a much larger venue and with far better organization to avoid similar issues.
The movie has been making headlines over a remake rumour and a messy legal dispute regarding the remix of the 1999 track Chunari Chunari from Biwi No. 1. Producer Vashu Bhagnani of Puja Entertainment claimed ownership of the rights, while Tips released a statement maintaining they are the lawful owner of the music rights.
Promotions for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai continue, with the official trailer set to launch on May 21 in Mumbai. The film will release in theatres on June 5, 2026.
