Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has shared a personal struggle with fans after revealing that his 1.5-year-old daughter Lara was diagnosed with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH).

Varun, who welcomed Lara with wife Natasha Dalal in 2024, shared the news on the show Be A Man, Yaar!

Lara was diagnosed with DDH, a condition where the hip slips out of the socket, causing an uneven limp while walking. Varun explained that if left untreated, it can lead to arthritis and slip disc issues.

Fortunately, Lara underwent a procedure and is now recovering after being in a spica cast for 2.5 months.

Varun urged parents to pay close attention to their children's movements and consult a paediatrician if they suspect anything unusual in the early years of their child's development.

He also chose to share this story to spread awareness about the condition, which is curable if diagnosed early in a baby's development.
