Varun Dhawan recently faced online backlash after visiting a Mumbai temple in a grey short and sleeveless vest. Many social media users deemed his attire inappropriate for a religious place.
The actor was seen wearing casual clothing while visiting the temple to seek blessings ahead of the release of his upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
Several users expressed disapproval of his choice of clothing, with some calling it a 'PR stunt' and 'fake devotion.'
Varun-starrer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is currently facing legal trouble after producer Vashu Bhagnani filed a ₹400 crore lawsuit against the makers.
The film, directed by David Dhawan and produced by Ramesh Taurani, is set to hit theatres on June 5.
