Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal has spoken out against the criticism he faced after making 'wife jokes' at a wedding that went viral on social media. In an interview with The Nod Magazine, the actor stated that as a public figure, he doesn't have to be perfect all the time and that sometimes he deserves criticism.

He added that fame comes with a sense of responsibility and that if the criticism is constructive, he can learn from it. Kaushal's comments came after a video of him making jokes about marriage at a wedding surfaced online, drawing criticism from many who called the jokes misogynistic.

The video showed Kaushal quipping that married men's enthusiasm and energy drop year after year, but doesn't fade in just four days. The comments sparked outrage online, with some users labeling him a 'red flag' and questioning his character as a husband.

Kaushal tied the knot with Katrina Kaif in 2021 and the couple welcomed their son, Vihaan, in 2025. He will next be seen in the romantic drama Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
