Some fans waited past midnight, and a fan page on X posted videos of the massive crowd. It is unknown whether Vijay met his fans, but they believed he had returned to Chennai on Saturday.
Vijay has been in the news lately for his personal life, political career, and unreleased film Jana Nayagan. His wife filed for divorce, and he is set to quit films for politics after the Tamil Nadu elections.
The TN elections will be held on April 23, and Jana Nayagan's release is uncertain due to the CBFC's involvement with the Election Commission of India.
