The film industry is reeling from another shocking development after Vijay's final film Jana Nayagan was leaked online ahead of its theatrical release. The latest twist in the saga is that the film has also been illegally telecast on a local television channel in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
A 44-year-old man, S Palanisamy, owner of the channel Raasi Prime Movie, was arrested by the Coimbatore District Police for illegally broadcasting the unreleased film on April 11. The case was registered following a complaint by Mohanapriya, deputy secretary of the Coimbatore East unit of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
After the investigation, Karumathampatti police arrested Palanisamy and seized equipment used in the illegal broadcast, including a computer, five hard disks, and other electronic devices. The channel's office has been sealed as part of the enforcement action.
The police have warned that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in the illegal distribution of the film and other copyrighted content through cable or online platforms.
Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju, alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani.
