Tamil superstar Vijay is set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, days after the election results were announced. Amid the celebrations, his parents were spotted heading for the swearing-in ceremony with hearts full of pride.
Vijay's parents, Shoba and SA Chandrasekhar, were seen leaving for the ceremony at Chennai's Nehru Stadium. His father, a filmmaker, expressed their happiness on the occasion, saying, 'I am very happy. We are going to attend the function. I am going to enjoy that my son is going to take the oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.'
Shobha Chandrasekhar reacted emotionally, calling it a special Mother's Day gift from her son. 'I am so happy. It is Mother's Day today, I am very happy,' she said.
Vijay's party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), successfully proved its majority to TN Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Saturday evening, paving the way for Vijay's oath ceremony.
Vijay's journey to becoming the Chief Minister has been marked by personal and professional upheaval, including a divorce and issues with his final film, Jana Nayagan.
