Actor-turned-politician Vijay has submitted a complaint to the Tamil Nadu DGP against DMK supporter Ponraj Vellaichamy for his derogatory remarks about women.

Ponraj referred to female cadres of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as 'prostitutes' in a tweet, sparking outrage.

Vijay, the TVK chief, urged strict legal action against Ponraj, saying his remarks insulted all women collectively.

Ponraj had earlier described the TVK fan base as a 'mob of ignoramuses' and 'prostitutes' who declare their love for Vijay.

Vijay will contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, which he has dubbed a direct contest between 'pure force TVK and evil force DMK'.
