Bollywood veteran Zeenat Aman has shared a nostalgic anecdote about her comeback to films, which coincided with the beginning of her marriage's downfall.
She revealed that her mother's unwavering support helped her return to work after a long break, during which she was dealing with the cracks in her marriage to Mazhar Khan.
Zeenat Aman recalled how she accepted the role of murder accused Janhvi Kaul in the 1988 film Gawaahi, which marked her return to films after giving birth.
The film, a low-budget courtroom drama based on Ayn Rand's play The Night of January 16th, was shot entirely in Mumbai and featured a talented cast, including Shekhar Kapur and Ashutosh Gowariker.
Zeenat Aman also revealed that she rewatched the film recently and was reminded of its bold and unconventional whodunnit plot.
The actor, who has been open about her personal struggles, including her marriage to Mazhar Khan, has been hailed as a comeback queen, with this being one of her many comebacks in her illustrious career.
