A 12-year-old student, Jada West, lost her life after a fight with another child following a school bus incident. The Douglas County School System has spoken out, offering condolences to West's family and stating that the matter is under the jurisdiction of the Villa Rica Police Department.
According to cellphone video, West got into an argument on the school bus on March 5, which escalated into a physical fight near her home. She was transferred to the Children's Hospital Scottish Rite, where she lost her life due to cardiac heart failure.
The school system has assured that the well-being of students and staff is of primary importance and that a crisis team will be available at Mason Creek Middle School to help grieving students and staff.
