Albanian prosecutors have demanded the arrest of 20 people over alleged drug-trafficking and money-laundering, with some possibly linked to a luxury resort project tied to relatives of Donald Trump.
Protests have been ongoing in the Balkan nation for two weeks, with demonstrators calling for the project to be stopped and Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign.
The special prosecutor's office said a probe into international cocaine-trafficking revealed the involvement of several people in concealing the origin of assets and integrating illegal proceeds into the formal economy.
The courts have ordered the preventive seizure of assets worth over 128.4 million euros, relating to sales contracts involving several individuals and a company.
Part of the suspect investments relates to properties and construction projects in Tirana, Palase, and Himare, among other coastal areas.
