The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) is set to livestream the Artemis 2 lunar mission's high point on Monday, with astronauts flying around the Moon, on its website, YouTube, Amazon, and even Netflix.

The almost seven-hour long flypast will start around 6:45 pm GMT and is expected to end around 1:20 am GMT.

This historic flyby will see the Artemis 2 crew pass behind the far side of the Moon, which is not visible to Earth, marking the first time over half a century that astronauts will fly around the Moon.

Nasa will provide commentary from both the astronauts aboard the mission and experts at the Mission Control center in Houston, Texas, but has warned that the lengthy distance may impact video quality.

The Artemis 2 crew will reach the furthest distance humans have ever traveled from Earth shortly before the start of the flyby, surpassing the Apollo 13 distance record by 4,102 miles.

During the planned multi-hour lunar flyby, the astronauts will take photographs and provide observations of the Moon's surface as the first people to lay eyes on some areas of the far side.
