Australian Man Arrested for Forcibly Assaulting TSA Agent at LAX

An Australian traveler, Thomas Jesse Bingham, 35, has been charged with a violent outburst at Los Angeles International Airport.
According to the complaint, Bingham allegedly grabbed a TSA agent's uniform, tore off his ID badge, pulled his hair, and pushed him into a glass partition.
The incident occurred on March 18, 2026, at LAX after Bingham mistakenly accused the TSA agent of theft while searching for his backpack and travel documents.
The TSA officer sustained injuries to his hand and back and required medical evaluation.
Bingham is facing a federal accusation of assaulting a federal officer and could face a maximum sentence of 8 years in prison if convicted.
He is currently in custody and awaiting trial.
