Bangladesh has signed a historic deal with Boeing to purchase 14 planes for its national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, valued at $3.7 billion.

The agreement, which marks the airline's largest-ever order, includes the delivery of eight 787-10 Dreamliners, two 787-9 Dreamliners, and four 737-8 MAX jets over the next decade.

The new fleet will be used to serve destinations in the Middle East, Europe, and North America, with the 787-10s and 787-9s set to operate long-haul flights.

Biman CEO Kaizer Sohel Ahmed stated that the modern, fuel-efficient aircraft will enhance the airline's operational performance and expand its international route network.

The deal was agreed upon in August 2025 and is part of a broader trade agreement between Bangladesh and the United States, which aims to reduce the country's trade deficit.
