Buckley Carlson, the son of conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, has left his role as deputy press secretary to Vice President JD Vance, according to Politico.

The move comes amid heightened tensions between Tucker Carlson and President Donald Trump, who recently criticized several figures, including Tucker Carlson, on Truth Social.

Carlson had informed the vice president's office of his intention to leave as early as December 2025, but stayed on to ensure a 'smooth transition.'

He is reportedly planning to start his own political consultancy business, having been hired as deputy press secretary in 2025.

Carlson has served as an aide on Capitol Hill since 2019, most recently as Republican Representative Jim Banks' deputy chief of staff.
