A vegetation fire broke out in Riverside County, California, on Wednesday, dubbed the Sanderson Fire. The blaze reached four acres before forward progression was stopped. Hemet Police Department issued a statement advising people to avoid the area of Fruitvale Ave. and Sanderson Ave.
Watch Duty noted that resources would be committed for approximately 1 to 2 hours for mop-up. The fire is surrounded by roads, with no structures threatened initially.
Additional units were requested to fight the blaze, which is described as having 'light flashy fuels with a moderate rate of spread.'
Scary visuals emerged from the scene, showing thick smoke and crews battling the blaze. A cause for the fire is not known at this time.
