Update (5:15 p.m. EDT): The Springs Fire has now crossed Via Del Lago. An Evacuation Shelter has been set up at Valley View High School located at 13135 Nason St in Moreno Valley. An animal shelter has been set up at San Jacinto Animal Shelter: 581 S. Grand Ave. San Jacinto. The blaze has burned approximately 1,500 acres.
According to Incident Command, the Springs Fire in Moreno Valley has grown to approximately 1,500 acres and could potentially expand to 5,000 acres. The fire is currently moving across the flats of Lake Perris toward the northwest.
Evacuation Orders have been issued for the following zones: RVC-0825, MOE-0744, MOE-0745, and MOE-0746.
