Canadian law enforcement is probing the possibility that pro-Khalistan extremism may be a factor behind the murder of Indo-Canadian influencer Nancy Grewal.
According to a report in the Windsor Star, investigators are looking at potential links between the slaying of Grewal and the contentious Indian Sikh separatist movement she criticized.
Grewal, an outspoken critic of the Khalistan movement, was found stabbed at a residence in LaSalle, Ontario, on March 3.
Police have released CCTV footage showing an unidentified person dousing her front porch in a flammable liquid before setting it on fire in an arson incident last November.
Grewal had received 40 death threats and had accused politicians of ignoring the problem for the sake of votes in one of her recent videos.
Her mother, Shinderpal Kaur, said her daughter had received frequent death threats from hardliners over her digital content.
