CBS News has removed Claire Day, a senior journalist and London bureau chief, following reported internal disagreements over editorial coverage of the Iran-Gaza conflict.

Day will depart the network on May 1, and Shayndi Raice, a recently hired foreign editor from the Wall Street Journal, will oversee all overseas coverage starting on May 11.

The move comes after a clash between Day and editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, who is a self-proclaimed Zionist and has been accused of pushing for biased coverage.

According to a source, Day was accused of operating the London bureau like a 'Hamas cell' by a freelance editor and cameraman, but an internal investigation found no evidence of bias.

Day has been a prominent figure within CBS News, serving in leadership roles and overseeing international coverage from London since 2002.
